The genesis of influenza vaccination
dates do the begining of the
1940´s 24-27, soon after the virus was
isolated, with the development of
a monovalent inactivated vaccine
for an influenza A subtype, with significant
contributions from Jonas Salk and Thomas Francis.
The lower effectiveness of the vaccin
in the following years lead to the discovery of changes in the proteins of influenza´s surfacer, along with the identification of influenza B.
